The Lukut State Assemblyman (ADUN), Choo Ken Hwa, has clarified that the worker who had raised a Jalur Gemilang in an upside-down state at a school in Port Dickson is a differently-abled person (OKU).
According to a report by Kosmo, Ken Hwa shared his belief that this matter should be put to rest, as on the day of the incident, he had coordinated with the governing board, the Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) and the school.
“Requesting a little intervention, just a little one, is fine. I went there myself when it happened. This matter happened because the headmaster had involved a worker. The worker is slightly mentally disabled; he is an OKU,”
“(The worker) went around putting up (flags) in the area. He used old flags, and he displayed them upside down. After being informed by the general public, the flag was taken down. It was not done intentionally. I think this is a small mistake and I think it can be forgiven,” he shared, adding that the matter should no longer be viral online.
