Luton Town boss Rob Edwards admits they paid for their poor start after losing 2-1 to Manchester United on Sunday.

Rasmus Hojlund struck twice for the visitors, with Carlton Morris pulling a goal back in the first-half.

Edwards said: "Not the right result. You can't give a team like Manchester United a two-goal lead, especially in the manner we did. It was really frustrating because then I thought the lads showed the quality that they have to come back from that.

"We pushed them all the way then, but it's really frustrating. I'm disappointed for the lads. We came into this game really believing that we could win this game. The performance shows that as well.

"We had to brave, I know we have to be better at managing the counter-attack, they had some big moments there. There are certainly things we can improve on there. We have to be better on that.

"But the performance was great, to dominate large parts of the game. We did create chances and kept pushing all the way until the end. We were unlucky with that set-piece at the end when Ross hit the bar.

"I'm very disappointed with the manner we conceded those two goals. But the rest of the performance was really good."
