While the influx of the best beauty advent calendars has started off the winter season in style, festive food remains the main event for many and as supermarkets are unveiling their menus this week, it looks like we’re in for a treat.
As if our prayers were answered, combining the two, M&S has released a foodhall advent calendar that is packed with favourites from its coveted shelves. Behind 25 doors hides sweet treats, chutney, tinned cocktails, a mini Christmas pudding, champagne, teas and more. Closed, the £100 calendar features a dainty townhouse at Christmas scene in an elegant cream colour with gold numbers.
Already on sale, the foodhall calendar gets mouths watering before the full festive range drops into stores, with the food-to-order slots opening next Tuesday, 22 September. I was treated to a preview of M&S’s Christmas menu and can attest that we’re truly spoiled with flavoursome party food, decadent mains and elegant starters. The M&S foodhall advent calendar
Forget Liberty or Selfridges, as a self-confessed foodie this will be the advent calendar I’ve got my eye on this festive season. Featuring 25 doors, there are 27 products included, so expect a couple of two-in-ones. Lots of the contents are sweet, from the choc marks pretzel, caramel sea salt and almond nougat milk chocolate bar and malt balls, to milk chocolate covered pistachios and 85 per cent dark chocolate ginger sticks. There’s a splash of savoury to balance the palate too, like quince and pear fruit chutney for cheese, and cranberry and port sauce.
It’s also suitably festive with golden coins, a Swiss truffles hanging decoration and a big bubbly Santa chocolate that would make perfect stocking fillers. There are a few occasion drinks too, including an indulgent salted caramel espresso martini cocktail.
Priced at £100, it’s certainly a splash out. But with many of M&S’s viral treats behind its door, it’s sure to be a big hit so move fast if you want to secure it.
