- Marks & Spencer has acquired a 437,000 square foot warehouse in Lichfield, Staffordshire, from online retailer Asos.
- The new distribution centre, set to open in 2027, is expected to create 600 jobs and will become one of M&S's largest facilities.
- M&S aims to double its online fashion, home, and beauty sales by using the facility to increase capacity and process orders more quickly.
- Asos will receive at least £66 million from the sale, saving approximately £6 million in annual costs and gaining an £85 million one-off profit boost.
- The sale allows Asos to strengthen its balance sheet and improve capital efficiency, as its remaining warehouses in Barnsley and Berlin provide sufficient capacity.
