How do you drive when the condition doesn’t allow you, and in this case, if you’re legless? A differently-abled man, Aiman, who lost both of his lower limbs revealed how he actually drove from Malacca to Shah Alam, and he made it to his destination safely!

In a viral (and insightful) TikTok video by @galerikeretaofficial, Aiman, who was born without legs shared how exactly he drove to the gatherings of car enthusiasts in Shah Alam, and the key is not just about confidence but also to having the right tools.

You don’t bring knives to a gunfight and in Aiman’s case, all he needs is custom-made metal rods to drive safely and put both his hands to good use.

“My right hand is responsible for using the rods to push on the brake and gas, and my left hand is used to control the steering, headlights, and wipers.”

Sounds easy, right? According to Aiman, he has to be extra vigilant on the road, his reactions have to be quick and body coordination has to be agile.

“I want to rely on my own, despite my condition”

With Aiman’s conditions, he could’ve just relied on his family or friends to “chauffeur” him around. He admitted that he had the luxury of that, but he chose not to. Aiman wants to be independent without relying on others’ help.

“I made up my mind to learn to do things on my own, and I don’t want my family to run around for me.”

Aiman also said he has been driving for nearly 7 years now, all because he didn’t want to allow his physical condition to affect his daily routine.

In the video which you can watch below, Aiman also said that he has consulted with experts before using metal rods as driving materials.

“I needed to make sure what kind of tools I needed to ensure a smooth driving.”

Aiman’s efforts and dedication should be a solid example and reminder to us that where there’s a will, there’s a way.
