Earlier, the government rolled out the BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) programme, which allows eligible Malaysians to enjoy RON95 petrol at a cheaper price, helping to ease living costs.
As we’ve reported previously, only Malaysians with a valid driving licence can get RON95 at RM1.99 per litre with a monthly quota of 300 litres under BUDI95.
A local company allegedly told its workers to use their BUDI95 quotas for work
With that in mind, a Malaysian employee voiced his frustration, claiming that his employer told him to use his BUDI95 fuel subsidy for work purposes instead.

“If your BUDI95 quota runs out, use your family’s”
According to Kosmo!, the man shared a screenshot on social media showing a conversation with his employer, who allegedly told staff, especially drivers, to start using their own BUDI95 fuel subsidy from 30 September.
The company also claimed that if their quota runs out, they should use a family member’s MyKad instead.
“Starting 30 September, all drivers must use their MyKad to pump fuel. If your quota runs out, try using a family member’s MyKad. Please save on fuel,” the employer wrote in the message.
The worker said the instruction was meant to cut company costs, especially for services that involve transporting customers.
