As Malaysia eased Covid-19 restrictions and companies welcomed their employees back to offices, the level of congestion has increased not only on the roads, but in train stations and public spaces.
Made worse by various technical issues, taking public transportation has become a complete nightmare and Malaysians are at their breaking point.
Yesterday, one Malaysian shared on her TikTok account, @iggy_az21 (Azalea) a video showing how packed an LRT station was after office hours.
The queue to get on the train was so long that it extended to the stairs that led to the underground platforms.
Netizens are fed up
In the comments, netizens vent their frustrations about the poor service of RapidKL.
“9am-5pm but in reality, it’s 9am-9pm because we only get home at 9pm.”
“Never knew the LRT service is so bad now. It was still okay when I used to always take it.”
“This was just now. I regret getting off work early because in the end, it’s the same.”
RapidKL responds
Since being posted 20 hours ago, the video has gone viral and RapidKL has issued an apology to Azalea via a series of comments under the video.
“Hi Azalea. We had to remove a train from operations just now. We apologise for any inconvenience experienced related to the congestion at several stations,” the comments read.
“We will continue striving to improve our service for the comfort and safety of all. We once again apologise for the incident that occurred this evening.”

We hope the relevant authorities can take the necessary actions to prevent further more serious complications.
