People would normally keep domestic animals such as dogs, cats and rabbit as companions and pets but there are others out there who seem prefer the wilder ones.

While some have kept monkeys and snakes, it appears that there are people out there who are keeping up a zoo-like atmosphere in the houses by owning more serious animals.

MYNEWSHUB took to their Twitter page to showcase a Malaysian couple keeping crocodiles and more within their home compound in a housing area. The location of the property is still unknown.

They wrote, “Is your house in a zoo, bro?”

In the video, the wife can be seen coming home after purchasing food, such as fruits and chicken, for the animals in their house, all while the husband explains that the fruits are for the exotics birds while the chicken is for the crocodiles.

After showcasing how he prepares the food items, the husband then fed the animals starting with a ‘black dragon’ kept in a small container. He then moved on to his Arapaima, which is an Amazon river fish, and finally, his crocodiles. Based on the video, it appears that they have at least 3 crocodiles in their house.

After watching the video, netizens had many concerns ranging from animal welfare to safety issues and potential ecological disasters.

“Am I the only one who feels sad seeing the size of the animals’ living spaces?”

“I hope Perhilitan will investigate this immediately. Exotic animals are not meant to be pets, even more so kept in small and dirty cages. Pity them.”

“Do they have the licenses to keep all these animals? What would happen if the animals escape into the housing area?”

“I hope their housing area does not flood! I don’t so much care if the crocodiles escape, I care if the fish (Arapaima) does. It’ll damage the ecosystem of the place if that fish escapes.”

And true enough, Arapaima are a predator fish and an invasive species that can destroy the ecosystem should it escape or be released.
