M'sian Couple In Perlis Mistakenly Eat Toxic Mushrooms For Lunch & Fall Violently Ill
A couple suffered a nasty bout of food poisoning after they unwittingly consumed toxic mushrooms which they had found.

The couple were identified as Muhd Basir Abidudin Abd Razak and Intan Nabila Mazelam, who are both 28 years old, reported Harian Metro.

Had mushrooms for lunch

The Malay daily reported that the couple came across the mushrooms while they were foraging for wild mushrooms near a cattle pen.

Intan Nabila then uploaded a photo of the mushrooms to her WhatsApp status at 10.30am, where she was told by her family members that it was safe to eat.

As such, she and her husband proceeded to cook the toxic mushrooms for lunch, only for them to suffer diarrhoea and vomiting.

Found in weak condition

Malaysian Jariah Foundation Voluntary Brigade (BSYJM) chairperson Mahadzir Abd Hamid told Harian Metro that the team was alerted of the incident at around 4pm.

When an emergency response team arrived at the scene, they found the couple inside the toilet in an extremely weak condition due to the food poisoning.
