Mobile Legends Professional League Malaysia (MPL Malaysia), the local esports professional league for the mobile game Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB) recently announced that it has concluded its investigation into allegations of match-fixing involving Bountee Esports and its members.
In an official statement, MPL Malaysia found that former Bountee Esports player Nik “Dominus” Muhyyiddin attempted to engage in match-fixing and offered financial incentives to 2 Bountee Esports players to throw the match.

Accordingly, MPL Malaysia found that Muhyyiddin is guilty of :
- 2 counts of attempted match-fixing
- 2 counts of attempting to provide financial incentives to Bountee Esports payers to throw a match
For the above offences, Muhyyiddin has been given these punishments:
- Suspensions from the MLBB Malaysia Esports Ecosystem, effective immediately for 1 year until 18 April 2025
- The suspension includes MPL Malaysia, MAL Malaysia, and any events endorsed by MOONTOON Games
Although these are serious violations of integrity and professionalism, MPL Malaysia found that Bountee Esports didn’t commit any infractions.
The esports team has since iterated its commitment to strengthening its operations and management in cooperation with the league.
Moving forward, MPL Malaysia stressed that it will redouble its efforts on team engagements to ensure that the players are thoroughly cared for and increase education on good practices and values for teams to foster safe, healthy, and respectful sporting environments for their members.
