Sometimes, life just gets too much, and we may not all be equipped to face the stress that life throws us.

One 41-year-old Malaysian who worked in KL took a bus on June 3 heading to Terminal Amanjaya because of workplace stress. He then made the decision to live in the forest.

After six days, the man was in hunger and had lost his way, so he called the emergency line (999) using his cellphone at 11 pm on June 9, reported BERNAMA.

Perak JBPM assistant director of operations Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said that they received the call at 11:44 pm and hurried to the location mentioned by the victim.

“The victim was wearing an orange shirt with blue jeans. He was contactable through the phone but had no access to the Internet.”

The assistant director mentioned that the 41-year-old had entered the forest from nearby the National Audit Department in Perak. As they entered the forest, they contacted the victim, who told them he could hear the BOMBA personnel coming.

The rescue personnel were able to find the victim at 2:46 am, and he was handed over to the police.

We’re glad the man made the call asking for help when he knew he couldn’t take it anymore. We hope that he will get the help he needs and that his trip to the forest has helped him clear his mind.

However, if you’re in the same boat, burdened by everything going on in the world, please reach out to the people close to you whom you know can be trusted, a helpline such as Befrienders Malaysia at 603-76272929, or seek professional help.

We’re glad that the man is now in safe hands.
