In the world of social media, showing off a fancy lifestyle is… kinda a big deal, for some.

But a Malaysian YouTuber recently shook things up by revealing something important about influencer behaviour. This revelation has sparked a big discussion about honesty and ethics among influencers.

The YouTuber recently showed off a super expensive mansion to their fans.

They gave a virtual tour of the fancy house and flaunted everything that deemed fancy. It looked like the ultimate in high living.

‘Turns out they’re just renting’

But when viewers started to wonder, a Malaysian property investor named Ishaq took a closer look at whether the YouTuber really bought the mansion.

What he found out caused a stir on social media.

Ishaq went on Facebook and told everyone that the fancy mansion wasn’t actually bought by the YouTuber—it was just rented.

“Now, this influencer says they bought a RM9.7 million bungalow. But when I looked into it, turns out they’re just renting, not actually owning it.”

What’s more, the real owner still hadn’t sold it, despite what the YouTuber said.

Ishaq found out when he talked to the property agent, who said the house was still up for sale at RM9.8 million, while someone was renting it for RM23,000.

Pretending to be rich and successful is painfully sad

Ishaq was upset and criticised influencers for pretending to be rich and successful, especially when they try to show that anyone can make it big, even without much education. He felt it was wrong to mislead young people like this.

“Kids these days, when asked about their future dreams, some aim to be influencers or YouTubers, chasing wealth without bothering with their studies. This mindset stems from the influence of social media stars who flaunt their riches and success.”

Ishaq also pointed out how dangerous it can be when people believe these misleading stories.

He talked about young folks getting into serious debt because they’re trying to copy the lavish lifestyles they see influencers living.

This whole situation is a wakeup call for influencers to be more responsible and think about how their actions affect their followers.

Even though showing off fancy stuff might get attention, what really matters in the end is being real and honest. Influencers should remember to stay true to themselves and be honest with their followers. That’s what counts in the long run.
