First dates are usually the “make or break” moment as it determines whether a couple is suited to be with each other or not based on first impressions.
A man recently shared on social media how his first date went disastrously no thanks to the woman’s sense of entitlement and insulting remark about his financial status.
Ordered wagyu behind his back
According to the Threads post, the OP wrote that he went on a date with the woman and ordered chicken chop for himself.
However, the woman decided to splurge on herself by ordering A5 wagyu while the OP was at the toilet.
He also claimed that he didn’t know that she had ordered such an expensive meal until it was time to pay the bill.
‘If you’re poor, don’t go out on a date!’
The OP then asked the woman whether she was going to pay for her wagyu meal as she had ordered it without his knowledge.
In response, the woman replied: “If you know you’re poor, don’t ask people out on a date! You’re just wasting people’s time!”
Excuse me? This is just a first date, not a wedding anniversary. We’re not even confirmed to be in a relationship yet.
“So who’s actually the poor one now? You’re acting like you want to eat expensive food, but expecting someone else to pay for it,” he fumed.

The OP later revealed that he proceeded to block the woman as he felt she had hurt his pride by calling him “poor”.
In the comment section, netizens weighed in on the situation and a majority of them sided with the OP.
‘Up till today, I rarely order expensive meals if they were on someone else’s dime. This is due to manners.’
‘There’s one rule I practice till today: don’t order something that’s more expensive than what the person’s paying for the meal. Common sense. I only order what I want if the other party’s my husband.’
