A man was caught on camera stealing women’s underwear from a unit at The Rise 1 Apartment in Penang, prompting state assemblyman Teh Lai Heng to urge the public to come forward if they have any information about the suspect.
According to Teh, the incident took place around 4am on May 23 and was captured on closed-circuit television (CCTV), which he shared on Facebook.
Completed his act in 30 seconds
In the footage, the man can be seen loitering near the entrance of the apartment unit before climbing over a fence and reaching into a clothes-drying area.
He then quickly grabbed two pieces of women’s underwear before fleeing the scene—all within 30 seconds.
Teh stated that his service center had already received complaints regarding the incident and that his team had already notified the authorities.
He urged anyone who recognises the suspect or has relevant information to report it immediately to the police at 04-228 2222 or 04-218 1881.
