Normally when we go to a mamak stall, we would usually order some food and drinks while chit-chatting the night away with friends.
For this young man however, he decided to put a twist of fun into his mamak session by making two staff members have a 100-metre race between them.
M’sian man competes with mamak staff in 100m race
In a hilarious 30-second clip shared on TikTok by @i2zehey, it showed a man clad in a red t-shirt standing in the middle of an empty road while acting as the ‘referee’ for the impromptu race.
He then started off by introducing the ‘competitors’ of the 100-metre dash, one of whom was a worker of a mamak stall located in Petaling Jaya, while the other was one of the OP’s friends.
As soon as the ‘referee’ yelled ‘One, two, three!’ at the top of his lungs, both men made a mad dash towards the finishing line, with the OP looking on in amusement.
He added in the caption that the race took place at around 4am in the morning and joked that it was to prevent the mamak staff from getting bored when there were no customers.
However, it wasn’t revealed who ultimately won the race in the end.
Netizens amused by race
The clip has since garnered over 120,000 views at the time of writing and netizens were left laughing over the randomness of race.
They also praised the mamak staff for being willing to participate in the competition.
Another netizen remarked that it was nice to see grown men doing the fun things they did when they were much younger.
Meanwhile, the clip even caught the attention of the mamak owner, who jokingly remarked that he now knew why he couldn’t find his worker.
