While most would stop their vehicle and take a look after an accident, there are some who would casually shrug it off and drive away as if nothing happened.

This was the case with the driver of a black Myvi, who was caught on CCTV colliding with a parked car and sped off without offering an apology.

M’sian man outraged after Myvi hits brother’s parked car and flees

Taking to Facebook to recount the incident, a netizen named Lim Kah Poh shared CCTV footage of how the accident unfolded.

In the clip, Lim is seen watering the plants at the front porch of his home when the Myvi sped by his house, missing a T-junction located on the left.

Upon realising that he had missed the junction, the Myvi driver then reverses the car but collides with a car parked outside Lim’s house in the process.

Speaking to WeirdKaya about the incident, Lim said that he then opened the front gate to check the situation as he expected the Myvi driver to pull over.

But to my surprise, the driver fled, leaving me stunned as I watched him exit the neighborhood.

“As a result of the accident, the car, which belonged to my brother, suffered minor damages and was taken to the workshop for repairs,” he said.

When asked whether he had managed to track down the Myvi driver, Lim said he doesn’t know who the owner is, thus making it a huge challenge to do so.

‘What if kids got hurt instead?’

Lim added that it’s not the first time drivers have been driving at high speeds at the neighbourhood, where young children have been injured as a result.

He also urged the Myvi driver to step forward and own up to the collision.

“What I’m trying to let the Myvi driver know is this: if there’s an accident, don’t just run away like that.”

Today, my car got hit. If one day our children or grandchildren were to get hit, what are we supposed to do?

“I urge all drivers to drive slowly at residential areas. Let’s all look out for each other’s safety and protect our belongings,” he said.

As for the criticism levelled against him for parking the car in front of his house, Lim said the car had been parked at the same spot for nearly 10 years and wasn’t located too close to the main road.
