EL Ukasyah took to Facebook to share his experience after visiting a Kuala Lumpur eatery not once, but two days in a row, just to enjoy the same meal again.

That must be some good sardine fried rice

Ukasyah’s experience caught the attention of netizens after he shared a side-by-side comparison of 2 receipts from the same restaurant for the exact same meal, just 1 day apart.

On Thursday, August 8th, he visited the eatery and ordered sardine fried rice for RM7.80, along with a fried egg for RM1.90.

However, when he returned the very next day and ordered the same sardine fried rice, he was surprised to find it had gone up to RM9.30, a noticeable increase from the previous day.

Maybe times are just getting tougher?

To make matters even more eyebrow-raising, other items on the menu, like the fried egg, remained at RM1.90. And to top it all off, the same cashier who worked on the 1st day he was there was also the one working on the 2nd day.

Trying to make sense of it all, Ukasyah humorously suggested that maybe the cost was somehow linked to the stock market, implying that fluctuations in stock prices might be influencing the price of his meal.

Netizens started flooding the comment section with some jokes of their own.

“Maybe they were running an 8.8 sale, and once it ends, the price will go back to its original amount. Hang in there.”

“Maybe the price was higher because Gordon Ramsay was cooking it that day.”

“Just imagine how the price jumped in the blink of an eye.”

“Good thing you kept the receipt from your 1st visit.”

Now we know which day to visit the eatery for a better deal on sardine fried rice. So, make sure to avoid Fridays, yeah?
