Feeling like the weather’s been scorching hot lately? Well, it’s not just you as a heatwave is coming, with temperatures potentially hitting 37°C.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has recently issued a Level 1 heatwave alert for four areas in Peninsular Malaysia, warning residents to brace for scorching temperatures in the coming days.

Temperature to soar up to 37°C

According to an official statement released on Facebook today, temperatures are expected to range between 35°C and 37°C over the next three days.

The affected areas include:

  • Larut, Matang and Selama (Perak)
  • Kinta (Perak)
  • Petaling (Selangor)
  • Kuala Krai (Kelantan)

MetMalaysia has urged residents in these regions to take necessary precautions during this period of intense heat.

These may include staying hydrated, avoiding outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and seeking shade or air-conditioned spaces when possible.

The Level 1 alert is typically issued when daily maximum temperatures hover between 35°C and 37°C for three consecutive days, indicating a potential rise in heat-related health risks if the hot spell persists.
