On April 6, 2024, at 4:30 pm, the Malaysian Meteorological Department issued heatwave alert for 44 regions across the country, highlighting six areas with a level two heatwave warning and another 38 under a level one warning.

According to the department, level two warnings are activated for temperatures between 37 to 40 degrees Celsius for three consecutive days, whereas level one warnings apply for temperatures ranging from 35 to 37 degrees Celsius over a similar period.

  • Kedah: Padang Terap
  • Kelantan: Gua Musang
  • Pahang: Jerantut, Raub, Temerloh

Level One Heatwave Warning:

  • Perlis
  • Kedah: Baling, Kota Setar, Kulim, Kuala Muda, Pendang, Kubang Pasu, Pokok Sena, Sik, Bandar Baharu
  • Perak: Timur Laut, Seberang Perai Tengah, Kinta, Kampar, Kuala Kangsar, Hulu Perak
  • Kuala Lumpur
  • Negeri Sembilan: Tampin, Jempol, Jelebu
  • Pahang: Lipis, Pekan, Maran, Rompin, Bera, Bentong
  • Kelantan: Pasir Puteh, Jeli, Machang, Kuala Krai
  • Terengganu: Besut, Kemaman, Dungun
  • Sabah: Keningau, Tenom
