The body of a woman and her daughter were found inside their car outside a school in Johor Bahru.
In an official statement by PDRM in Johor yesterday (January 24), the police confirmed that the discovery of the bodies was made by the public, who lodged a report on Thursday night (January 23) at 10:32 pm.
The car – a BMW was parked outside a school in Tampoi, Johor Bahru, with the engine still running when they were found unconscious.
The deceased were 44 and 14 years old, respectively.
At the time of writing (January 25), PDRM said no criminal elements were found in their deaths, and their deaths were classified as sudden deaths.
The bodies had been sent to the Hospital Sultanah Aminah for post-mortem.
In a report by Berita Harian, North Johor district Chief Police, Balveer Singh said that based on the initial investigation, the authorities believe the incident was caused by a petrol leak in the engine, which led to condensation that entered the car’s air conditioning system.
In the victim’s last conversation in a WhatsApp group with friends, they mentioned that they had just finished shopping around the BBU area and stopped briefly at the incident location as they were feeling unwell.
“The victim, who has three children and lives in Bakar Batu, was out with their youngest child,” Balveer said.
PDRM urged the public not to come up with any speculation while the investigation is ongoing.
