It is not easy to truly close an old chapter, especially when it involves someone who once held a place in the heart.
According to mStar, a single mother recently shared that she broke down in tears after discovering that her ex-husband is expecting a child with his new wife, even though the couple had been separated for three years.
‘I no longer have feelings, but I still feel afraid’
In a post on Threads, the woman said the sadness came unexpectedly, despite believing that she had already moved on and accepted that her previous marriage did not last.
I felt sad when I found out my ex-husband is going to have a new child. Should I even be crying? I no longer have feelings for him. I just feel disappointed and afraid,” she wrote.
She explained that raising children alone as a single mother has not been easy, and the news brought back painful memories from her past marriage, including experiences that took her years to heal from.
“I no longer feel anything for him. But why am I so sad now that I know he will have a new child, to the point of crying?” she shared.
Worried for their twins
She also admitted that she is worried about the future of their twins.
“Our children will no longer be his only children. I do not know how to express it, but I feel sad. When I heard the news, I could not hide my reaction. I did not know whether to feel sad, disappointed, or angry,” she said.
She added that the emotional pain from her past still resurfaces at times, but she hopes to become stronger and has made peace with her fate.
