A special operation took place on New Year’s Eve around 8 PM, where a total of 7,124 vehicles were checked, according to Azrin Borhan, the Director of the Road Transport Department (JPJ) Selangor.

During the operation, JPJ officers stopped 2 teenagers at the Awan Besar Toll Plaza on December 31 (Tuesday) for riding motorcycles without a license.

Their mom wanted to have satay

A woman in her 50s was spotted riding pillion on one of her sons’ motorcycles as they were heading out to take her to get some satay, according to Sinar Harian.

The plan of 2 teens to take their mom to get satay on New Year’s Eve was cut short when they went through a roadblock, and the officers ended up asking them to pull over.

They couldn’t afford a license due to financial struggles

When they were stopped, the single mom told the officers that she wanted to enjoy a satay meal, even though she knew her sons didn’t have driving licenses.

She also mentioned that her sons, aged 16 and 17, hadn’t gotten their licenses due to financial struggles.

Following this, JPJ officers decided to take down the teens’ details to include them in the MyLesen program, which helps those who can’t afford a license.
