Starting a new job is rarely easy, especially when you are entering an unfamiliar industry and still learning how things work.
However, one Malaysian woman claimed her probation experience became so stressful that she decided to resign without having another job lined up.
In a Threads post, the woman said she had only worked at the company for about a month when discussions about a possible termination allegedly left her feeling pressured to leave.
Sent HR a detailed explanation
Instead of submitting a simple resignation letter, the woman documented seven reasons behind her decision and sent them to the company’s Human Resources department.
According to the document, she claimed she received insufficient guidance and support despite being new to both the company and the industry.

She said she was often expected to learn processes independently without enough constructive guidance to perform her responsibilities properly.
The woman also claimed she was accused of attempting to take over her project manager’s responsibilities after contacting the ICT team about scheduled training.
She felt the matter could have been treated as a learning opportunity instead of being interpreted negatively.
Allegedly asked to reconsider her future
The woman said the issue escalated during a discussion where the notice period and termination were allegedly brought up.
She claimed she was asked to “think over the weekend” about whether she wanted to continue working with the company.
As a new employee, she interpreted the conversation as a sign that her position was at risk and believed the company might terminate her employment.
As a result, I felt pressured to make a decision rather than being given an opportunity.”
She added that the situation caused her considerable stress and made her feel unsupported during her probation.
In a reply to another user, she clarified that she had not already been issued a termination letter.
However, she said termination had repeatedly been mentioned beforehand, making her believe she would eventually receive one.
Removed from work groups without explanation
She also claimed she was removed from several work-related chat groups, including a group for a new cohort, without any prior explanation.
This allegedly left her feeling uncertain about her position in the team and anxious during her days off.
The woman further claimed that she was discouraged from asking HR about replacement leave and overtime policies.
According to her, she was allegedly told:
If you are really concerned about time, then you are not suitable here.”
She was also allegedly instructed to consult her superior before approaching HR, which made her hesitant to seek clarification about employment matters.
‘I’m hiring you not because I want to train you’

Another comment that reportedly affected her was an alleged statement that read:
I’m hiring you not because I want to train you.”
The woman said the company knew she came from a different industry and had no previous experience in the field.
She felt that new employees should still receive some onboarding and guidance, particularly during their probation period.
She also claimed there was no proper handover of documents, processes or responsibilities.
On several occasions, she was allegedly asked to complete tasks without enough context, such as sending a reminder without being told what the reminder was about.
Company accepted her 24-hour resignation
The post received thousands of likes, with several netizens advising her to keep screenshots and records of all relevant conversations.

Some commenters suggested that the circumstances could potentially raise questions about constructive dismissal, though this has not been legally established.
The woman later said she was considering taking further action as she felt the situation was unfair and was currently collecting evidence.
In her latest update, she said the company accepted her resignation within 24 hours instead of requiring her to serve the initial one-week notice.
She added that she had returned all company belongings.
“No explanation, no solution from HR, so I believe they don’t care.”
