A delivery rider’s surprise meeting with the wealthy business mogul Tan Sri Vincent Tan has the online community chuckling with amusement.
The rider’s tale came to light on TikTok, shared by user @emy_chachacha, who began his day with an encounter with a seemingly familiar ‘uncle.’
This ‘uncle,’ unknown to the rider at the time, was one of Malaysia’s richest and most successful businessmen.
The delivery rider mentioned that he had run a tab at a drink shop yesterday, so he had to go back to the shop to pay the money.
On his way, he encountered a person of authority with a familiar face and greeted him.
Casually asks for RM100
Recalling the encounter, the rider shared, “Upon approaching the store, I was greeted by this uncle. There was a glimmer of familiarity, yet I couldn’t place him.”
The rider, in a jest-filled moment, dared to request RM100 from the ‘uncle’.
“To my astonishment, he agreed to my request for RM100!” he exclaimed.
This ‘uncle’ the delivery rider referred to is actually the well-known Malaysian tycoon, Tan Sri Vincent Tan.
At the end of the video, Vincent Tan can be seen attending an event at the same mall. The delivery rider approached Tan for a photo and a chat.
While posing for the photo with Tan, the rider was also seen dancing and moving with great enthusiasm next to him, while Tan himself appeared friendly and was seen smiling beside him.
Upon recognizing the individual in the video as Tan Sri Vincent Tan, numerous netizens chimed in, highlighting the man’s identity. The video’s creator humorously responded that in hindsight, a larger sum should have been requested.
