One of the ways that we can contribute back to society is through the simple act of charity. And, nothing brings more satisfaction than seeing your gift make a difference in someone else’s life, as this uncle experienced.
M’sian senior citizen donates his motorcycle to a university student
Most of us might be accustomed to donating our used items, but have what happens once it goes into the donation bin? One man was fortunate enough to find that out himself.
A recent Facebook post tells the tale of a kindly old man and his love offering. The story all began when an elderly man known as Uncle Lan, was hoping to give away his motorcycle. According to him, he sustained a wound on his foot and as a result was no longer able to man the vehicle.
An act of charity, a blessing for others
Hoping to find a new home for his motorcycle, Uncle Lan went on to contact Shuang Fu Johor Bahru, a non-profit organization. The charity body then reached out to 448 Foodbank Johor, who updated on the situation in a subsequent post.
Their post caption reads, “Shake hands with each other and let love flow back.” Coincidentally, a university student was struggling to travel to campus as he had no means of transport. The organization decided to arrange a meeting between Uncle Lan and the young man for an official ‘handover’ event!
The exchange left both parties content – the UTM student secured a solution for his transportation woes, and the uncle took solace in knowing his cherished motorcycle found a deserving new owner.
How wonderful it is to see such a heartfelt act of kindness taking place! We hope that Uncle Lan’s generosity can encourage others to follow suit.
