A Malaysian singer has been accused of selling pornographic videos on Telegram, a channel that, at the time of writing, has thousands of subscribers.

Malaysian rapper Caprice highlighted the issue in an Instagram post yesterday (13 February), claiming that the accused singer had included a link to the Telegram channel on his social media profile. In his post, Caprice stressed the severity of selling obscene material online, noting that it is a crime and expressing hope that the authorities would investigate the matter.

He also alleged that some of the Telegram channel’s subscribers are underage students

Caprice tagged the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil in his post to draw their attention to the allegations. He also shared a screenshot from the comment section of the accused singer’s post, showing social media users casually asking for “free videos.”

According to Caprice, he revealed the issue after someone reached out to him about it.

Another screenshot of the Telegram channel shows a link provided for those who wish to purchase videos directly from the seller.

As of the time of writing (14 February), the singer has yet to respond to the allegations. However, the Telegram link has since been removed from his social media profile.
