An audio clip of a female teacher from a secondary school in Perak has been making rounds after she allegedly insulted a student.

According to China Press, the teacher was upset with the student and allegedly called him “bodoh” (stupid) for not knowing how to speak Malay.

“Go back to China”

As a result, the student was made to sit next to a trash can, which upset the parents.

In an audio clip of a conversation between the teacher and a male representative, the teacher defended herself by saying even the student’s parents didn’t know how to speak Malay. She then added,

“If they can’t speak Malay, they can go back to China.”

But when asked if she had indeed insulted the student, she didn’t deny it.

“This wasn’t the first time I said something like that, and I wasn’t the only one who did. Plus, we never got any complaints before,” she added.

“You’re disturbing my personal time!”

Even after being reminded that Malaysians should respect each other and that her actions could be seen as racial discrimination, the teacher snapped back, saying he shouldn’t have called her directly and that he was disturbing her during her sick leave.

She insisted that complaints should go through the school since she was resting.

On top of that, she even threatened the representative, mentioning that her husband was a police officer and that she could track down his identity.

“I can report this to the Education Bureau or the Ministry of Education, and I can also find your number through other means because my husband is a policeman,” she warned.

The school has reported the incident to the district education office and is now waiting for further instructions on how to proceed.
