Becoming a teacher is no small feat. Holding responsibility for shaping the youth while also educating them through their formative years, the lengths some of these mentors go through for the sake of their kids is nothing short of admirable.

One Malaysian teacher seems to be leading the way in extending a hand of kindness towards her student in a TikTok video uploaded to her page @ae.syahhh. In the video, Cikgu Aisah, who currently works as a trainee teacher at a school in Melaka, shared how she helped to reconstruct one of her students’ workbooks using tape.

In the video, Aisah, who was in the middle of marking a series of books, came across one book belonging to her student that had come apart from its cover. Doing the honourable thing, Aisah proceeded to place double-sided tape on the cover of the book and reattach it to the rest of its pages. At the end of the video, the workbook seemed almost brand new, as it was reattached properly.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Aisah stated that this was not the first time she fixed one of her students’ books, as she had come across other books that were torn and battered as well.

“I don’t tell them that their book came apart, actually. Maybe they didn’t know, so I just do what I can to help and place it back together again,” said Aisah to WORLD OF BUZZ.

Receiving immense praise for her noble actions, many Malaysians praised Aisah for going above and beyond her duties as a teacher to aid the student, all while not knowing the reason for the tear.

“May all your students love you always, and understand everything that you teach them. Thank you for helping that kid put his or her book back together,” applauded one user.

On the other hand, multiple users also mentioned how refreshing it is for teachers to help their students in this manner, recounting their own stories in the past of educators who shamed them for having torn books, even if it wasn’t intentional.

I love that there are teachers like this! Back then, in primary school, my torn books would be thrown out of the classroom by the teacher. It looked even worse after that,” commented another user.
