A 45-year-old woman lost her life in an unexpected manner after she allegedly suffered a heart attack and crashed her car.

According to China Press and Sin Chew Daily, the victim was identified as Liu Shiyu (transliteration), who hailed from Sungai Petani, Kedah.

Had heart attack while driving

The Chinese dailies reported that Liu was driving along Jalan Bukit Teh while heading towards Simpang Ampat in Penang at around 2pm yesterday (Apr 8).

During the journey, she allegedly had a heart attack and it caused her to lose control of the car, which subsequently crashed into a ditch.

A local security team rushed to the scene upon receiving a report of the accident and extricated Liu out from the wrecked car.

However, her life couldn’t be saved and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Liu’s family were later informed of her passing by members of the Sungai Petani security team.

Her body was sent to the hospital for a post-mortem but police have yet to issue a statement on the incident.
