A Malaysian woman was shocked to find a clump of false eyelashes inside a cookie she bought from a popular cookie chain, prompting her to share the experience on social media.
The post has since garnered hundreds of comments online, with netizens expressing disgust over her unpleasant discovery.
Found fake eyelash inside cookie
In the caption of her Threads post, the OP wrote: “I don’t post stuff like this often but I pulled out a fake eyelash embedded in my cookie & I feel sick so I had to share.”
Speaking to WeirdKaya, the OP, who wished to remain anonymous, said she noticed something unusual while eating the chocolate cookie.
“I took a bite and saw one strand of hair coming out. Once I pulled it out, it was a whole cluster eyelash,” she said.
Company offered more cookies as compensation
The OP said she contacted the company about the discovery and was offered a free bag of cookies as compensation. However, she declined the offer.
At the time of writing, the company has not issued any public statement addressing the matter.
Understandably, many netizens were grossed out about the unsavory discovery.
One even commented that she thought it was a mosquito.
Others also chimed in with the opinion that the company’s product quality has decreased since their initial opening, claiming they tasted stale and had a ‘fridge’ odour.
