We’ve probably heard numerous stories of individuals getting charged ridiculous prices for their meal or beverage, but such incidents are still bound to happen every now and then.

Netizens were recently left stunned after a woman shared how she was made to pay an exorbitant price for a glass of warm water at a restaurant in Kuala Lumpur.

M’sian woman gets charged RM7 for warm water

In a Threads post shared by @pinatzamree, she uploaded a photo of a receipt she received after dining at a restaurant in KL.

In the receipt, she was charged as follows for these items:

  • RM85 for a plate of Malouba lamb rice
  • RM7 for a glass of warm water
  • RM25 for a glass of watermelon juice

Calling the incident a case of “daylight robbery”, @pinatzamree wrote that she was stunned when she discovered the warm water cost a staggering RM7.

My mistake was that I didn’t ask or check the price before ordering. They did mention that there was a charge when I asked for warm water. I just thought, ‘How much could air suam cost you?’ There you go, RM7!”
