Marriage often means building a life together and sharing responsibilities. But one woman says she has been left feeling exhausted from having to work, pay household expenses and care for her children.
Taking to Threads, she opened up about regretting her marriage, claiming that she had been financially supporting her husband for more than five years while also managing the home.
Pays the bills and manages the household
In her post, the woman said her responsibilities had continued to pile up, leaving her questioning what she was getting out of the marriage.

According to her, she pays for housing, electricity, water and her children’s necessities. On top of that, she also handles household duties and looks after the children.
Whenever she wants to buy something for herself, she said she has to find extra money for it too.
“I’m just so tired,” she wrote.
She added that she no longer understood what was rewarding about marriage, as she felt she was doing everything herself.
‘I married him because I loved him’
In a follow up comment, the woman explained that she had married her husband out of love and had not expected to end up feeling so burdened.

She said she could cope with supporting him financially for a year or two. However, she claimed that the situation had now gone on for more than five years.
“I married him because I loved him,” she said, adding that she had not known before marriage how things would turn out.
For her, the prolonged responsibility had become exhausting.
Claimed asking for a divorce leads to ‘drama’
The woman also claimed that attempts to ask for a divorce had been met with “drama” from her husband.
Expressing her frustration, she said she sometimes wished another woman would take an interest in him so that she could be free of the marriage.
Her post also touched on intimacy, with her questioning whether marriage was worthwhile for women who were comfortable living without sex, especially when it came with growing responsibilities.
In a later clarification, she explained that her earlier use of the Malay word “gatal” referred to women with a high libido.
Denies getting married just for the wedding
In the comments, one person questioned whether she had been caught up in the excitement of planning a wedding without thinking deeply enough about married life.
The woman rejected that suggestion, saying her wedding had been a modest affair.
She added that she had not even had her “dream wedding”.
Another commenter focused on her remarks about intimacy, suggesting that both partners needed to share similar desires and expectations.
However, the woman’s account centred largely on the exhaustion she said she felt from years of financial responsibilities, housework and childcare.
