A Malaysian woman warns travellers to stay vigilant after a stranger asked her family to carry their luggage at an airport.

A Malaysian woman recently reminded netizens on the importance of being vigilant in airports following an incident involving luggage.

Posted on Threads, the individual claimed that a woman approached her family while they were heading to the check-in area for their baggage.

The incident was said to have taken place at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 1 (KLIA 1). The date was not disclosed.

According to the video attached to the post, the woman was shown simply coming up to the woman’s relatives, asking them to carry her bags.

The local woman, in the video, told her relatives not to take the bags and both the relatives and the other woman parted ways.

Netizens also took to warning about the dangers of helping strangers in this manner, pointing out the legal implications.

“I’m an airport staff member. What you did was the right thing. Don’t take matters like this lightly, okay. There have already been many cases where people ask others to carry their bags because there is ‘something’ inside,” a user said.

“I’ve experienced this before. Someone asked me for help all the way to the gate. You know what I did? I called over an immigration officer who was walking past me and said, ‘This person wants me to carry her bag.’ Her face immediately changed,” a netizen recalled.

Meanwhile, some users questioned why there was a lack of authorities monitoring the area for such individuals to prevent such incidents in the future.
