The woman was arrested

Taiping District Police issued a statement revealing that they received a police report on December 26 from a man regarding the incident in Taiping, Perak.

Following this, a police team arrested the woman in her 40s, for further investigation under Section 435 of the Penal Code.

Preliminary findings suggest that the incident occurred due to the woman’s dissatisfaction with a motorcycle towing company that attempted to tow her bike.

She hadn’t paid the motorcycle instalment for over 20 months

The statement also revealed that the towing company decided to repossess the motorcycle due to 20 months of overdue instalment payments.

The investigation has been opened under Section 435 of the Penal Code (mischief by fire), which could lead to up to 14 years in prison and a fine if convicted.

Taiping District Police are calling on locals to keep sharing information to help maintain public safety.
