Thought he saved RM7,000, but it was only RM500

In her post, the woman wrote that she had known her fiancé for a long time and they got engaged for a year.

Her fiancé works as a teacher, while she was employed in the private sector at the time.

Believing he had been putting money aside for their marriage, she assumed he had saved at least RM7,000. However, she was stunned to discover that he only had RM500.

Planned to “top up” his savings

She explained that she initially had the intention to help top up his savings, thinking he had already put aside a substantial amount.

Her goal was simple, to speed up their marriage plans and “halalkan hubungan” (make the relationship official in Islam).

However, upon learning that he had only saved RM500, she admitted she felt crushed with disappointment.

I thought I was going to help complete his savings, not realise there was almost nothing there. Honestly, I was very disappointed,” she wrote.
