If you’re a pet owner, you’d probably understand the struggles of ensuring your furry friend’s fur is always looking its best without getting its hair getting stuck all over your body and clothes.
A woman recently came up with an ingenious way to brush her pet cat’s fur which wasn’t only environmentally-friendly, but possibly fragrant as well (only durian lovers would agree).
M’sian woman uses durian shell as a ‘comb’ for pet cat
In a brief 14-second TikTok video uploaded by @lailasidek, it showed her giving her chubby pet cat a grooming session.
However, it wasn’t a typical comb specially designed for animals, but instead it turned out to be an item everyone least expected — a durian shell.
You’d think that the cat would wince in pain whenever the durian shell is brushed against its fur, but it turned out to be the opposite as the cat completely relaxes and even does some biscuits while enjoying the grooming session.
Towards the end of the clip, the woman showed viewers a large clump of fur being attached to the durian shell and encouraged them to try doing the same with their pet cats in the in-text caption.
‘Very expensive comb’
The clip has since garnered over 700,000 views at the time of writing and netizens were amused to see a durian shell being used in such an unconventional manner.
‘Even combing (its fur) looks expensive. You probably have to buy durians that cost RM45 per kilo.’
‘Now women will have an excuse to ask their husbands to buy durians every day.’
Meanwhile, a netizen commented that she tried using a durian shell to comb her cat’s fur but it caused the animal to run away.
