Driving requires one to have both eyes on the road and both hands firmly on the steering wheel as failing to do so can result in fatal accidents.
However, there are still some who simply refuse to abide by the law and would rather risk the safety of other road users and their own, just like how one woman recently did.
M’sian woman watches video on phone while driving with only 1 hand
In a brief 13-second video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @mynewshub, it began with the cameraperson filming a car that was cruising right beside him.
A few seconds into the clip, it then revealed a woman placing her handphone against the steering wheel for support while a video plays away on it.
To the cameraperson’s shock, the woman was so engrossed in watching the video that she didn’t even bother to look up to see what was ahead of her on the road.
To make matters worse, she was gripping onto the steering wheel with just one hand and didn’t seem too bothered by the fact that she was potentially putting herself and other road users in danger with her actions.
In the caption, @mynewshub called upon the police to take “immediate and firm” action against the woman for her perilous deed.
However, it’s not known where or when the incident took place.
Netizens outraged
The clip has since garnered 25,000 views at the time of writing and left netizens justifiably angered by the woman’s reckless and irresponsible act.
‘There are a lot of drivers like this. Dock their handphone/tablet then watch movies/movie clips while driving. A LOT!’
‘When they collide with other people, they will pull out the OKU card.’
Meanwhile, some urged the OP to lodge a report against the woman via the MyJPJ app.
