Even though there are many job opportunities in Malaysia, many citizens still prefer to go across the causeway to earn earn a living.

In a video that has gone viral by TikTok user @ezzaiky7, he talks about how much a sanitary worker in Singapore earns.

“General workers such as cleaners or garbage collectors can earn up to RM6,000 – RM9,600 per month.”

He added, “although the money is a lot, there are multiple challenges that one needs to go through.”

In that video, a netizen commented that Malaysia gives greater compensation than Singapore. In a different video, the sanitary worker graciously responded to that statement:

“High-paying jobs in Malaysia might be for those who are educated. I am uneducated. If I can earn RM7,000, 8,000 or 9,000 while staying in my own country, I would want that.”

In his other videos, he is also very transparent about his job as a garbage collector. Some netizens asked whether he felt embarrassed about his work. However, he replied that he was never embarrassed and felt grateful for his job.

“We have different fates. Allah has planned the best for us. Just as long as I don’t steal or ask from anyone.”

According to Sin Chew Daily, he lives in Johor Bahru with his family and travels to Singapore daily for work.

It is amazing that someone can work in Singapore while living in Malaysia because it takes a highly resilient individual to be capable of accomplishing so.
