It’s no secret that you’re supposed to give way to emergency vehicles such as ambulances while on the road. But, there’s another rule when it comes to ambulances.

You’re not supposed to tailgate them in an effort to get out of a traffic jam.

Netizen, Fadzilah Hashim, took to her Facebook page to showcase a Malaysian Minister’s MPV tailgating an ambulance through what looks like heavy traffic on a highway.

She wrote, “An accident at Simpang Pulai has caused a traffic jam until Tapah. It’s taking 6 hours from Tapah to Simpang Pulai, but what hurts the most is seeing a Minister’s car following behind the ambulance as though they were having the biggest emergency. Malaysians ministers are great, keep it up, good work.”

In the images she shared, the MPV had a plate that stated ‘Menteri (Minister)‘ above it’s number plate, indicating that the vehicle’s purpose is to transport a Minister.

Many have since left sarcastic comments about the Minister and government over Ministers having the freedom to break the rules.

“We (Ministers) can, you cannot! The condition of our country is becoming more and more hypocritical. The people cannot, but Ministers can!”

“Maybe they’re afraid to be surrounded by the people. That’s why they’re running away quickly.”

“Give them way quickly. They’re on the way to abolishing PTPTN, abolishing the pension of Members of Parliament, (making way towards) free education. If they get home late, who are they going to sleep because only in their dreams can they achieve all of that.”

According to a report by Kwong Wah Daily, a representative of MCA Perak shared their believe that the MPV might belong to Minister of Housing and Local Government, Nga Kor Ming.

The representative also requested that the Minister step forward and explain the MPV driver’s actions, no matter if the Minister was in the vehicle or not at the time.

Maybe the Minister had a loved one in the ambulance? We’ll never know unless they step forward to explain.

What do you think about this? Do feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
