Yesterday (August 18) was perhaps one of the best days for fans of Billie Eilish as the American pop singer had finally made her way into Malaysia and performed here for the very first time.

Her songs are undeniably enjoyable but for some attendants of the concert, the experience may not be all good. Local celebrity chef, Khairul Aming took to his Twitter account and shared his experience at the concert and he highlighted two things that may not have been on par with the price paid.

First and foremost, the sound system!

In his caption, Khairul said,

“The sound system is so sad! Can’t even hear what Billie was talking.”

Secondly, what also shocked many of the fans, was the size of the stadium vs the size of the stage. The viewers in the standing zone may have the opportunity to get a good, clear look at Billie Eilish, but the ones in the seating zone would have to rely on the big screens to get a good view of the performer.

They don’t make it like they used to

Apparently, Khairul was not the only disappointed viewer. His tweet has gained the attention of like-minded people who also attended the concert at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium and they, too, were not a big fan of the sound system, as well as the distance between the stage and the seating area.

Some have tweeted and compared how the concerts back then were much better than the one they attended yesterday.

“Paramore’s concert back in 2010, at the same place. The stage was much closer with a better sound system.”

“The organiser for Billie’s concert should be embarrassed. This was Siti Nurhaliza’s concert, back in 2004.”

WORLD OF BUZZ also reached out to Sarah, an event organiser who had something to say about the experience. Sarah said that generally, her experience in the concert was great but the sound system could’ve been better.

“There were parts where Billie was talking to the audience but we couldn’t really grasp it as we couldn’t hear clearly.”

Sarah also felt that the size of the stage, which occupied only a small part of the field played a major part in the concert as the seating zone was way too far from the stage, and some of the audience couldn’t see Billie clearly.

“We’re not gonna hold the drinks while watching Billie”

Sarah also told WORLD OF BUZZ that trash cans were scarce and the management should’ve expected the amount of rubbish given the portions of the drinks sold.

“I thought of going out to take a breath for a bit but when I saw the rubbish on the ground, I left.”

With that being said, that doesn’t mean the audience did not enjoy the show. Of course, Billie Eilish’s performance in Malaysia was definitely a dream come true for the fans. But in terms of management, sound system and the size of the stage, perhaps they could’ve been done better.

Fellow Billie Eilish’s fans, if you were there yesterday, how was your experience in general?
