Most of the time when college students look for internship placements, they’d look for companies that will give them the proper experiences necessary to kick start their careers after they’ve completed their studies. They’d also hope that whichever company they choose will give them a proper intern’s salary.

A local graphic design company, KF Design 黑月亮脸设计, recently shared an email they received from a student who is interested in participating in an internship with them. Though, the student decided to share her demands prior to applying.

KF Design 黑月亮脸设计 wrote, “Please don’t… but (we) wish you all the best.”

In the email titled ‘Looking for internship’, the student wanted to know if the company offered accommodation and transportation benefits, among others, as well as a salary of more than RM3,000 for interns, before they applied.

“I am interested in applying for an internship at your company. Could you please confirm if your company provides any of the following: Grab transport incentive, room for interns to stay, breakfast and lunch incentives, performance bonus and intern salary of above RM3,000.”

“If so, I would be happy to send you my portfolio and resume,” they wrote.

The student’s requests caused netizens to be dumbfounded, and honestly, we can’t blame them.

Considering the salary package they want seem much better than what most full timers would get, netizens shared their amusement over the demands.

“Am I living in the age of dinosaurs? The current intern wages can go up to RM3,000? And they want other incentives included?”

“They want an intern’s salary that’s the same as a permanent staff’s salary? Hmm, pity you, it’s better if you just ask for a job at your father’s company.”

We hope that the student finds what they’re looking for, though we foresee that it’s going to be very hard.

What would you do if you were in the company’s shoes? Do feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
