Malaysians visiting China will now enjoy visa-free travel for up to 30 days starting next week, an extension from the current 15 days.

The Chinese Embassy in Malaysia announced on its Facebook page yesterday (Nov 22) that the visa-free travel extension will be applicable from November 30 until midnight on December 31 next year.

“Ordinary passport holders of Malaysian citizenship who come to China for the purposes of doing business, sightseeing, seeing relatives or friends, making transits, attending exchange programs or making visits, can enter China visa-free and stay in the country for no more than 30 days,” it said.

“Those who do not fall into the above-listed categories still need to obtain a visa before going to China.”

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi on May 31 said China had agreed to extend the visa exemption for Malaysian tourists from 15 to 30 days.
