Southampton failed with a bid for Wolfsburg defender Felix Uduokhai earlier this month, it has been revealed.
Saints landed Kevin Danso from Augsburg in the final hours of the Premier League transfer window - but not before an attempt was made for Uduokhai.
Kicker says Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl is a big fan of Uduokhai and a 15m offer was tabled to VfL.
However, VfL rejected the proposal, so Saints turned to Danso.
Uduokhai is now interesting Augsburg.
