
The MA63 technical committee gathered federal and state feedback on unresolved matters, with three ministries presenting papers on the way forward.
KUALA LUMPUR: The Technical Committee of the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) Action Council convened today to gather crucial feedback on outstanding issues.
Chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, the meeting at Parliament involved federal ministries and the Sabah and Sarawak state governments.
Fadillah stated the session aimed to obtain input on unresolved matters and explore potential solutions. Three key papers were presented by the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, and the Sabah and Sarawak Affairs Division.
The federal delegation included Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Mustapha Sakmud and several other ministers. Sarawak was represented by its three Deputy Premiers, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and Datuk Amar Prof Dr Sim Hui Hian.
The Sabah government sent its three Deputy Chief Ministers, Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey G Kitingan, Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun and Datuk Ewon Benedick.
The high-level attendance underscored the meeting’s significance in addressing long-standing MA63 implementation concerns.
