TAWAU: Parti Warisan President Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal said it is more important to pursue the rights enshrined in the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) than follow Sarawak’s example and rename the Chief Minister’s post as Premier.
He was responding to a Sabah Kadazan Dusun Murut Welfare and Education Association (Pekadin) proposal to change the designation in line with parliament’s approval of the Borneon states being accorded territory status. The latter move is awaiting royal assent.
Shafie said it was pointless to change such titles if what was promised in MA63 remained unfulfilled.
