FOUR civil servants of a federal statutory body and two employees of a travel agency were arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Sabah yesterday, in connection with a case of false claims for the purchase of flight tickets worth almost RM1.3 million.
According to sources, forged flight details were used for the claims, while the actual tickets were not provided to the civil servants in the concerned department by the company.
“The six suspects, two men and four women aged between 30 and 50, were arrested at about 9.30 pm when they appeared at the Sabah MACC Office to give statements.”
Sabah MACC Director Datuk Mohd Fuad Bee Basrah confirmed the arrest and said a remand order would be applied for at the Magistrate’s Court today, to facilitate further investigations under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009. – February 10, 2026
