MACC chief Azam Baki one of six recipients of Seri Panglima Darjah Kinabalu

KOTA KINABALU – Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief Tan Sri Azam Baki is one of the sixth recipients of the Seri Panglima Darjah Kinabalu (SPDK), the highest award in the state, which carries the title “Datuk Seri Panglima”.

Other SPDK recipients are Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Joachim Gunsalam, state speaker Datuk Kadzim M. Yahya, former Kota Kinabalu mayor Datuk Iliyas Ibrahim, former state finance minister Datuk Mohammad Noor Mohammad Mansoor, and businessman Datuk Seri Lim Haw Kuang.

The awards are in conjunction with the 69th birthday of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sabah Tun Juhar Mahiruddin today.

Meanwhile, Deputy Finance Minister Yamani Hafez Musa is among the 81 recipients of the second highest state award, Panglima Gemilang Darjah Kinabalu (PGDK), which carries the title “Datuk”.

Senator Noraini Idris, Datin Seri Juliah Salag, wife of the Sabah chief minister, state Assistant Finance Minister Jasnih Daya, state Assistant Community Development and People’s Wellbeing Minister Flovia Ng, state Local Government and Housing Minister Mohamad Hamsan Awang Supain, state Assistant Youth and Sports Minister Andi Muhammad Suryady Bandy and state Assistant Rural Development Minister Harun Durabi will also receive the same award.

Sabah assemblymen who will receive the PGDK award include Lumadan assemblyman Ruslan Muharam, Sebatik assemblyman Hassan A. Gani Pg Amir, Balung assemblyman Hamild @ Hamid Awang, Pintasan assemblyman Fairuz Renddan, Tempasuk assemblyman Mohd Arsad Bistari, and appointed assemblyman Jafari Walliam.

Other PGDK recipients include Sabah National Security Council director Noor Alam Khan Abdul Wahid Khan, Sabah police commissioner Datuk Idris Abdullah, East Sabah Security Command (ESSCom) commander Hamzah Ahmad, Fifth Infantry Division commander Abdul Rahman A. Wahab, ESSCom Land Operations Division chief of staff M. Chandrasekaran, Sabah Immigration Department director Sh Sitti Saleha Habib Yussof, Sabah Education Department director Tah Nia Jaman, Institute for Development Studies (Sabah) chief executive officer Assoc Prof Ramzah Dambul and former Universiti Malaysia Sabah vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Taufiq Yap Yun Hin.

Also conferred datukship are Sabah Star secretary-general Edward Linggu, the chief minister’s press office director Datin Lucy Yong and Daily Express chief editor James Sardathisa.

There will be Ahli Setia Darjah Kinabalu award recipients, 246 Ahli Darjah Kinabalu award recipients, 319 Bintang Setia Kinabaluaward recipients, 393 Bintang Kinabalu recipients, nine Justice of Peace recipients and 222 Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji recipients.

Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Jeffrey Kitingan is conferred the Justice of Peace title along with nine others. – The Vibes, October 1, 2022
