A DEPUTY public prosecutor with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), who had only reported for duty just a week ago, has been arrested by police on suspicion of drug possession.
In a statement today, the MACC confirmed the arrest, adding that the officer was detained at his home yesterday.
Police conducted a search of the premises which led to the discovery of substances believed to be narcotics.
“MACC has handed the matter entirely to the authorities to carry out further investigation and gives assurance that it will provide full cooperation,” the commission said, adding that it would not compromise on misconduct or criminal activity by its staff.
"We will give them full cooperation in their investigation", it said.
The matter is currently under investigation. - September 24, 2025
