THE forensic report on the authenticity of the video linked to allegations of corruption involving several Sabah state assemblymen has been completed.
However, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief Tan Sri Azam Baki said he could not reveal whether the videos are authentic just yet as it would be prejudicial at this juncture.
"The report was handed over to the investigating officers last week.
“I don’t want to comment whether it is authentic or otherwise. What is important now is that we are calling (those involved) for their statements to be recorded,”
"My instruction is to recall everyone allegedly involved, whether they appeared in the video or were in possession of it, for their statements to be recorded," he told reporters today.
On another issue, he said the MACC has frozen 100 personal banking accounts of family members and companies belonging to a corporate figure with the title Tan Sri, worth more than RM217 million.
He said five individuals including the corporate figure have had their statements recorded and an estimated 13 other witnesses will be called.

“As for the accounts, we have frozen a hundred belonging to the corporate figure, family members and companies related to him, worth approximately RM217 million,” he said.
He added that the evidence is important for the MACC’s investigation into a corruption case involving an investment with an offshore company controlled by two proxies suspected of being involved in corruption.
Azam said MACC has opened two investigation papers to trace the financial transactions that occurred in the countries concerned until the money reached Malaysia. – May 22, 2025
