THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has submitted a list of items seized from Albert Tei Jiann Cheing on the day of his arrest and it was signed by Tei himself.
The MACC Strategic Communications Division (BKS) in a statement, stated that the items were given by the businessman to MACC officers and a copy of the Movable Property Seizure List document under Section 33 of the MACC Act 2009 was submitted to him on 28 November 2025.
“Among the items seized were a mobile phone, iPad and a digital video recorder which are evidence.
“MACC strongly denies the baseless allegations that MACC officers seized Albert Tei’s items without following procedures.
“MACC always carries out its duties in accordance with the provisions of the law and regulations set out in its jurisdiction,” it said.
Tei's wife had earlier formally demanded that MACC provide a complete inventory of all property seized during her husband’s detention last Friday, setting a three-day deadline for compliance.
She is seeking full details of each item, including descriptions, identification numbers, the names, ranks, and badge numbers of officers involved, and the date and time of seizure.
Her lawyer, Rajesh Nagarajan, confirmed that the same period has been granted to MACC to return any property obtained during the raid on the family home, warning that failure to comply could prompt legal action including a judicial review.
Tei’s lawyer, Mahajoth Singh, had also rejected MACC’s claims that he is in possession of “key evidence”, describing the allegations as “false and outrageous”. - December 1, 2025
